During youth camp with my church, after I had just finished 7th grade, I realized that I was a Christian, but I needed to really start following God and pursuing a personal relationship with Him. Since then, I have been praying that He would fill me with His presence and help me truly desire Him more.
Psalm 37: 4
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will bring you the desires of your heart."
These past few years have been tough... with family, friends, school... It seems like everything that could happen, does happen, all at once. We get bogged down in our lives and forget that we serve an all-knowing and all-powerful God.
Sometimes, God uses suffering to bring us closer to Him, but He promises that He will NEVER leave us... we must hold unswervingly to His words and cling to His promises. When you feel like you have nothing to hold onto, God will always show up. For me, these promises were very evident... He placed certain people in my life who I can count on no matter what. He showed me who my true friends are, who will always be there whether we are talking about boys or our relationships with God. Also, He has brought me closer to my sister, who I couldn't live without. She has always been my role model, my friend, my guide... and everything in between. God has blessed me through all of these relationships as they continue to push me along in my walk with Him!
Sometimes, it is hard to stay in The Word everyday. We get busy, forget, or just decide that we are too tired to have our quiet time that day... I am guilty of this... we all are. I have been praying recently that God would show me where I can carve out time to be in His Word and only focus on Him for 20 minutes of my day. That's when I decided to start this blog... I realized that this would be a good way to keep myself accountable to do my quiet time, write down what I learn, and share what God reveals to me with others. God tells us to "declare His glory among the nations" (Psalm 96:3), and this is a great medium to do just that.
Bonus Note:
God is so cool... While writing this post, the song "Forever Reign" came on, and I just had to stop and listen.
God I AM running to your arms. The riches of your love will ALWAYS be enough. Light of the World FOREVER REIGN.
We love you and praise you and pray that you continue to strengthen us each and every day as we follow you!
